Career Prospects and Company Culture at W@W

W@W is a unique organisation with a forward-thinking mindset, which is demonstrable in 2 aspects of its company culture: (1) they listen to your ideas and welcome input and (2) they allow each member of the organisation to contribute in a way they themselves find meaningful.

1. How Do I Feel Listened to At W@W?

The management team at W@W is open to feedback and constructive criticism, listening to well-prepared proposals to improve the many processes at W@W. Any teacher who wants to make a contribution can always text or call the directors in W@W, who are relatively accessible to the teachers and will interact with them regularly during the course of their work at W@W.

Being listened to is highly important as every employee wants to feel like they matter in an organisation. Having appropriate channels for feedback will help employees feel recognised when they bring up a good idea to improve how the way W@W is run. As such, W@W’s management is always open to any good suggestions by any teachers who want to take ownership of their work and pioneer any new projects for the organisation.

2. How Can I Contribute to the Organisation Using My Skills and Talents?

At W@W, teachers are allowed to teach in any style they see fit, subject to the W@W in-house curriculum. Furthermore, teachers can contribute to the organisation in other ways, depending on what they are good at, such as by undertaking other projects such as the Media Team. Each teacher’s contributions are valuable and recognised by members of the management team.

Having the flexibility to teach as you like according to the curriculum greatly helps teachers at W@W not feel stifled. Teachers have creative license over their teaching style, which helps them curate a good experience for their students while yielding good results. Furthermore, teachers with many positive testimonials or success at meeting company targets such as high student retention rates will be invited to share their teaching tips and techniques with the whole organisation, enabling everyone to learn from one another’s experiences.

3. What about my career prospects at W@W?

W@W has good teacher retention, as our teachers feel satisfied with the environment and job scope and are incentivised to stay. In fact, many of our teachers have been with W@W for years now! After teaching at W@W for several years, teachers can assume more responsibilities as a Senior Teacher. A team of Senior Teachers are led by a Middle Leader, who will be resolving any issues teachers have when they are teaching or undertaking other projects.

Furthermore, teachers who undertake other projects such as being part of the Media Team will have their contributions considered during their appraisals. Appraisals are a necessary part of monitoring progress and ensuring that the quality of lessons delivered are up to par, as W@W wants to make sure that all the teachers are on the same page when it comes to familiarising themselves with the W@W curriculum and the various processes of the organisation.
