Holiday English Programmes Singapore to Build Speaking Confidence

For young children, speaking English is more than just passing an oral test. It is the foundation for building friendships, expressing ideas, and participating in classroom life. Yet many students in lower primary still feel unsure when asked to speak up, especially in group settings or unfamiliar situations.

Instead of drilling vocabulary or memorising scripts, children need a safe and encouraging space to practise using English naturally. That is where our Holiday English Programmes Singapore comes in. Through interactive and age-appropriate oral activities, we help children grow in both fluency and confidence while enjoying their school holidays.

What Makes Our Lower Primary Oral Programme Special?

Our Holiday Programmes include dedicated oral communication classes designed for Primary 1 to 4 students. Each level follows a tailored curriculum that supports their developmental stage and language needs.

For Primary 1&2: Speak Through Play 🧒

For our youngest learners, the focus is on helping children become comfortable with English in a playful and nurturing environment. Lessons are filled with interactive storytelling, simple role play, and hands-on activities that guide children to:
• Speak confidently in front of others
• Share their thoughts using short, clear sentences
• Listen actively and respond appropriately

The programme is structured around a three-day journey called “Who Stole the Dragon’s Egg?”:
• Day 1: The Friendly Fairy
• Day 2: The Wise Wizard
• Day 3: The Grumpy Goblin

Each day builds language skills through character-led adventures that spark imagination and promote expression.

For Primary 3&4: Practice with Purpose 🧑‍🎓

Students in this age group are introduced to more structured oral tasks that mirror the themes they will eventually encounter in upper primary assessments. Over five sessions, they explore:
1. Recycling
Learn to discuss why recycling matters and how individuals can care for the environment.
2. Healthy lifestyle
Practise sharing daily habits that support good health and well-being.
3. Aspirations
Express personal dreams and goals, and talk about what they want to achieve in the future.
4. Kindness
Understand what it means to be kind and give examples of kind acts in everyday life.
5. Road safety
Talk about staying safe on the road and why rules like using a zebra crossing are important.

During this oral thematic program, students learn to give opinions, expand their answers, and practise turn-taking in conversations. While activities are age-appropriate and interactive, they also lay the groundwork for stronger speaking skills in upper primary.

How Our Programmes Helps Your Child Grow

Strong speaking skills support every area of learning—from answering questions in class to sharing thoughts clearly with others. Through our holiday oral programmes, students can expect to:

1️⃣ Improve pronunciation and clarity
Teachers guide students to speak more clearly, helping them pronounce words correctly and project their voice with confidence.
2️⃣ Learn useful sentence structures and vocabulary
Children are introduced to sentence starters, linking phrases, and everyday vocabulary they can use naturally in school or social settings.
3️⃣ Build confidence to speak up
Many children are shy at first, but in our small and friendly classes, even the quiet ones can find their voice.
4️⃣ Practise important communication habits
Students learn to take turns, listen actively, and maintain eye contact—essential habits for confident communication in any setting.

Instead of focusing on being perfect, we focus on helping each child enjoy the process of speaking up and being heard.

Why Parents Choose Our Course During the Holidays

Many parents want their child to enjoy the school break, but they also hope it can be meaningful. That’s where our Holiday English Programme comes in.

✅ Screen-free and enriching
Instead of spending the whole day on devices, children get to play, speak, and learn in a lively classroom setting.
✅ A fun way to build oral exam readiness
While we don’t focus on exams just yet, our programme gently introduces the speaking habits children will need later in Primary 5 and 6.
✅ Encourages natural self-expression
Whether it’s telling a story, sharing an opinion, or joining a group discussion, kids are given space to express themselves with joy.
✅ Great for quiet or bilingual children
If your child tends to speak less in English at home, this is a safe space for them to practise, make mistakes, and grow.

Parents love that their child is learning without pressure, making new friends, and becoming more comfortable with English during a joyful and purposeful holiday.
