What sets our Secondary English tuition apart is not just that our Secondary 3 and 4 students improve, but how they improve: stronger essays across every genre, sharper comprehension answers, and the composure to perform when it counts. Four things make that possible.
This component covers all 7 essay genres tested at O-Level: Argumentative, Descriptive, Discursive, Expository, Personal Recount, Personal Reflective, and Hybrid. Through STORYBANKING®, students develop sophisticated planning habits, apply persuasive techniques, and produce essays that demonstrate both linguistic range and consistent argument at the standard.
The O-Levels demand precision across comprehension, vocabulary in context, and language-for-effect analysis. Students work through questions on both narrative and non-narrative texts, develop structured approaches to inference and summary writing, and learn to answer to the question rather than repeat a memorised text.
Students practise Planned Responses to video prompts on commonly tested O-Level themes, and Spoken Interaction with the examiner, including spontaneous discussion on current issues. WRITERS AT WORK’s structured response frameworks give students a reliable approach to every response.
Our Upper Secondary English curriculum follows a structured progression, equipping students with increasingly advanced analytical, writing and examination skills. Each stage builds on the last, preparing students with the confidence and capabilities needed to excel in the O-Level English examination.

Since 2012, she has led curriculum development and teacher training, creating student-centric programs that empower hundreds of students to achieve outstanding results across the brand’s expanding branches.

They refer to the same thing. Secondary 3 and 4 are the O-Level years in Singapore. At the end of Upper Secondary, students sit an important national English examination that plays a key role in their post-secondary pathway. WRITERS AT WORK’s Upper Secondary Comprehensive English Programme is built specifically for this examination, covering all components with the depth and rigour the O-Level standard demands.
