Jemmies Siew
Managing Director

Jemmies Siew, co-founder of WRITERS AT WORK, is a visionary edupreneur with over 25 years of experience in the private education sector. A graduate of the National University of Singapore, she has empowered countless students through her innovative teaching methods and co-authored over 50 assessment books widely used in Singapore and across Asia.

As one of the co-founders, Jemmies has been instrumental in identifying opportunities for growth and ensuring the company’s success. Her strategic vision and leadership were key in expanding WRITERS AT WORK from a single branch to nine thriving branches. In addition to the physical expansion, Jemmies has played a crucial role in growing WRITERS AT WORK’s presence in the Singapore education digital space. Her dedication to sharing quality educational content online has helped students achieve academic success and contributed to the growth of the WRITERS AT WORK community to over 57,000 followers within a year.

These important onsite and digital expansions have ensured that WRITERS AT WORK evolves with changing times, keeping learning relevant and impactful for students. Jemmies’ forward-thinking approach to education continues to drive the company’s mission to provide exceptional educational opportunities for students in Singapore and beyond.

As one of the founding members of WRITERS AT WORK, Kai Ning combines her financial expertise with a deep dedication to education. A graduate of Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelor of Accountancy, Kai Ning has a strong foundation in auditing and business operations, honed through years of professional experience.

Since 2012, she has spearheaded the centre’s HR and operation strategies, ensuring that the organisation runs efficiently and supports its mission to provide exceptional educational opportunities for students and excellent customer service for parents.

Being a co-founder, Kai Ning has played an important role in expanding WRITERS AT WORK from a single branch to multiple thriving branches around Singapore. She leads by example to streamline the company’s operation processes, enhancing efficiency and productivity. Her strategic leadership is instrumental in identifying key locations, recruiting talented educators, and ensuring consistent customer service quality across all branches.

As the co-founder and Teaching & Curriculum Director of WRITERS AT WORK, Agnes Ng brings over two decades of experience in education and curriculum development. A graduate of the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours), she has authored numerous assessment books and taught hundreds of students to excel in English.
Agnes has played a pivotal role in growing WRITERS AT WORK, expanding its reach and impact. Her leadership of the Teaching and Curriculum Teams have been instrumental in ensuring the company’s success.

She has also been deeply involved in training teachers, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to deliver high-quality education.

Her expertise in developing effective, student-centric curricula has been helping WRITERS AT WORK students achieve outstanding results yearly since 2012. Agnes’ contributions have made her a cornerstone of the organisation’s success, and her unwavering commitment to student success continues to drive WRITERS AT WORK forward.

Catherine Chan, Assistant Director of the Teaching Team at WRITERS AT WORK, brings over a decade of teaching experience alongside strong leadership expertise to support both educators and students. With a Doctorate and Master’s in Business Administration, a Bachelor’s in Arts (English Language), and a Diploma in Education, Catherine has a robust academic background complemented by her extensive teaching experience in both public and private sectors.

As a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Catherine has significantly improved the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the teaching team, ensuring that systems and processes are streamlined as the team expands. Her commitment to fostering an efficient, well-structured teaching environment has allowed the team to maintain its high standards while scaling, ensuring that all operations continue to run smoothly. Catherine’s leadership combines her passion for education with her expertise in process management, driving both student success and operational excellence at WRITERS AT WORK.
