PRIMARY 6 PURE COMPOSITION WRITING PROGRAM

In preparation for PSLE, WR!TERS@WORK PSLE Teachers familiarise students with the exam format. We teach them examination skills and tips, as well as ways to plan and check their work within a restricted timeframe. Students are introduced to original and classic story plots and learn how to use comedy, realistic conflicts, the main character’s internal struggles and real-life trending news for added inspiration.

As PSLE is around the corner, it is important to not just learn new stories, but also adapt them to different exam questions. Furthermore, we also revise popular WR!TERS@WORK stories and coach students how to incorporate new twists to impress the examiners. The key is to have a wide arsenal of stories and writing mechanics to tackle their PSLE. TWO KIND STRANGERS

Pushing the gloomy thoughts aside, I went to my designated seat. To my dismay, the minute I sat down I realised my wallet was missing! I jumped up from my seat and patted both my back pockets, but the familiar bulge of my wallet was nowhere to be found. My anxiety levels skyrocketed. I was at a loss, where did my wallet go? At that precise moment, the overhead announcement speakers chimed out my name and I was being summoned to the General Office. Feeling curious, I ran to the General Office as I wondered what it was all about. When I was approaching, I saw that very same young stranger whom I had helped on the way to school. He waved at me with one hand while he held up my wallet with the other hand. My eyes widened in astonishment as I quickened my steps towards him.

Good study tips to help your child ace PSLE:

Timely revision matters! Find a balance between learning new topics and mastering previous ones. Your child will need time to properly pick up concepts, so they should be given ample time to learn and internalise the concepts.
Their examination stamina is more important now, so they should do more timed practices to get used to the pace and rigour of writing a full story under exam conditions, with minimal help.
