To many people, relaxation may be synonymous with quiet tranquillity, existing as a state of mind that stipulates the submergence of one’s self in calmness and quiet. However, absolute silence tends to overwhelm my senses and make me feel anxious. Hence, my idea of a perfect place that enables relaxation is one that is doused in ambience, such as boutique cafes around old neighbourhoods in Singapore. They have the perfect balance between white noise and silence. My perfect hideout to relax is this little cosy café – Co-op café. The café serves as a respite from my hectic mind; every aspect of a café is able to calm my nerves and silence my innate chaos. Every nook and cranny in the café inculcates a sense of inner peace and calm in me, debilitating the calamity of my mind.
