In 2012, WRITERS AT WORK opened its doors for the very first time in Clementi. With just two classrooms, a small team of passionate educators, and a vision to help students master the English language, we took our first steps toward making a difference in education.
Back then, we were driven by a simple yet powerful belief: every child deserves the right tools to become a confident and skilled writer. Little did we know that this small beginning would grow into something far greater – a thriving learning community that continues to expand today.
More than a decade later, we are excited to announce a major milestone—the expansion of our Clementi branch! What began as a modest space has now grown into nine classrooms spanning across four shop spaces. This expansion is more than just about size; it’s a testament to the trust and support of our students, parents, and the wider community.
With this growth, we can now reach and support even more students on their English learning journey. It is a reminder of how far we’ve come, and how much further we can go in our commitment to helping students master the English language.
From Humble Beginnings to a Thriving Learning Hub
When we started WRITERS AT WORK in Clementi, we knew that quality teaching and a strong curriculum were key to making an impact. Our structured writing and comprehension programs quickly gained traction, helping students improve their writing skills, critical thinking, and confidence in English
With each passing year, more students and parents saw the value of our proven teaching methodology. This led to:
✔ 2012 – The launch of our first branch in Clementi with just two classrooms.
✔ 2015 – Growing demand led to the opening of additional branches across Singapore.
✔ 2019-2020 – Despite the challenges of the pandemic, we were among the first few tuition centers to quickly adapt to online learning, ensuring that our students’ education remained uninterrupted. Our ability to pivot swiftly and maintain high teaching standards allowed us to continue thriving as a leading English tuition provider in Singapore.
✔ 2024 – Our Clementi branch expanded to nine classrooms, occupying four shop spaces!
This expansion is a full-circle moment, bringing us back to where it all began while allowing us to support more students.
Why Our Expansion Matters to Students and Parents
Expanding our Clementi branch isn’t just about having more classrooms—it’s about enhancing the learning experience for every student. Here’s what this means for you:
- More Classes Available – Due to high demand, many parents and students have had to wait for class slots to open up. With this expansion, we can accommodate more students and offer greater flexibility in class schedules.
- A Stronger Community of English-Proficient Learners – This expansion is not just a business milestone—it’s another step towards our mission of helping more students become confident English speakers and writers. By reaching more learners, we are empowering the next generation with the skills they need to excel in school and beyond.
- A More Conducive Learning Environment – Our expanded space is designed to be bright, spacious, and well-equipped to foster creativity, critical thinking, and effective learning. Comfortable seating, interactive learning tools, and well-lit classrooms make for an engaging and productive study environment.
- More Community Engagement Opportunities – With extra space, we can now hold more in-house teacher training sessions to ensure our educators remain at the top of their game. We will also host more open houses, parent workshops, and free educational talks to support both students and their families.
A Testament to Our Students’ Success
The driving force behind our growth has always been our students’ achievements. Since 2012, we have helped thousands of students improve their English proficiency.
